This summer I’ve noticed a huge surge in bright makeup colors. Eyes, lips, cheeks, you name it!
Has anyone else noticed this trend?
While I love my bold lip colors, it wasn’t until recently that I started to wear bright eyeshadow.
Why did I wait so long to give it a try? I guess I never thought I could “pull it off.”
Recently, however, I started playing around with some beautiful, bright shadows, and I quickly learned that my assumption was wrong.
Yep! It turns out anyone can wear bright eyeshadows, as long as you know how to do it. And that, my friends, is what I’m here to share with you today.
So get excited. Because today you’re going to learn 3 simple ways to wear bright eyeshadow.
Let’s do this!
How to Wear Bright Eyeshadow: 3 Simple Ways
Bright Eyeshadow: Lower Lid
Wearing bright eyeshadow on your lids is the boldest of the three options. So if you’re just starting out with this type of palette, I recommend keeping the color on your lower eyelid.
Why? Because when you start wearing bright eyeshadow above the crease, it can make quite a statement. In fact, it can even be a bit distracting.
So if you’re excited to start experimenting with bright eyeshadows, and you’re looking for just a pop of color, start with the shadow on your lower lid. Then, use a soft brush to blend the color at the crease for a nice, diffused look.
If you’re not quite ready to wear bright eyeshadow, but you still want that “pop of color,” you might try lining your eyes with a bright shade instead.
I’m a huge fan of SeneGence ShadowSense because it is a creme-to-powder makeup, which means it is SUPER easy to use it as eyeliner.
Woohoo, double duty!🙌
Simply put a small amount of ShadowSense on a thin brush and apply just above your upper lashes. If you’re feeling especially bold, you can wing it out, too. Easy!
Bright Under Eyeliner
On the flip side, you can also apply a bright eyeliner to your lower lash line. Whenever I do this, I like to use a neutral eyeshadow on my lids, and then I line my lower lashes with my favorite bright eyeshadow. It creates a nice balance.
Don’t forget the mascara
Your beautiful eyelashes can get lost in your bright eyeshadow, so make sure you’re applying mascara as well!
Give your eyelashes a good curl, and then apply a few coats of your favorite mascara to really make your eyes pop. (I’ve been rocking LashSense for the past several weeks, and I LOVE it!)
