I’m pretty sure my bathroom was designed by a man. Why? The complete lack of storage.
Really – my bathroom storage amounts to a shallow medicine cabinet and a drawer. That’s it. For a person who requires more than just a toothbrush, toothpaste, and deodorant, this tiny space simply will not suffice.
So what’s a clutter-hating, wanna-be-minimalist girl to do? Improvise, of course!
Today’s Quick Fix Friday is how to maximize bathroom storage space with one simple handy-dandy tool: the shoe holder.
Yep – a basic shoe holder comes to the rescue solving all of our storage needs. Who knew this product was so multifunctional?
Simply hang the shoe holder on the back of your bathroom door, and use the different pouches for storage. Does it get much easier than that?
(The answer is no!)
I use these pouches to store extra shampoo and conditioner, hair products, meds, toothpaste, contact solution, face wash, you name it. If it’s smaller than a shoe, it fits!
In fact, I bet you could also use this storage technique for organizing a toy room, holding snacks in the pantry, or tools in the garage. Shoe holder for the win:)
So that’s it! That’s how you maximize bathroom storage space in one simple step.
Do you need more storage space in your bathroom? What is your best space-maximizing hack? Have you ever used a shoe organizer for something other than shoes? Let me know below!
This is such a great idea for organizing! I think the shoe holder would be really great for a pantry door or linen door closet too.

Thanks, Sarah! Great suggestions – the shoe holder is so versatile 🙂
This is a great idea, and a great way to keep it all out of sight behind the door.
Thanks, Lisa! Agreed – out of sight is MUCH better than cluttered all over the sink, ha!
Awesome idea!! I use one in my classroom, too- so smart!
The classroom is a great tip, Ashley!
This is a brilliant idea! Our bathroom storage is horrible.
Thanks, Amanda. It’s a simple fix, but it really helps clean up the odds and ends that don’t have a place to go 🙂
Such a good idea! We’re about to have three adults in the house sharing one bathroom, so we need a good, easy (and temporary) storage solution. I’m definitely going to try this!
Oh good! And yes – I imagine that space might be sparse with 3 adults in one bathroom; this will definitely help 🙂
What a great idea! Love that it’s a quick fix.
Thanks, Lynn!
Behind the door storage is so smart!
Thanks!
This is such a great idea! SO much extra storage now.
Thanks, Kristen. It’s been helpful for me 🙂
These shoe organizers are so reasonable to purchase and there is so much storage that can used in them. Can use them in any room of the house from kids toys to bathroom.
Exactly! Extra storage for under $10? Yes please! 🙂
My bathroom is the same – a pathetic amount of storage. We luckily had room for a 3 tiered, tall and skinny shelving unit. This is where I keep towels and i have a few baskets with all my hair stuff included. It’s a little messy but it works!
I love the idea of adding a shelf – I bet that’s super helpful 🙂
This is a great idea! I so want to use this now! Thanks for sharing.
