I was reading the book Mindset by Carol Dweck the other day, which is a powerful study about growth mindset vs. fixed mindset.
In the book, Dweck offers some thought-provoking questions that got me thinking about the connection between a growth mindset and a strong self-confidence.
And the questions she asked were:
What can I learn from this? What will I do next time I’m in this situation?
These may seem like simple questions, but I’m telling you, they are so incredibly powerful.
You see, so many times when things go “wrong,” we’re tempted to throw in the towel.
We feel discouraged and embarrassed.
We think we failed and that there’s no sense in trying again.
But in today’s podcast, I challenge those common thoughts.
Because those thoughts are driven by a fixed mindset.
In the podcast, we explore strategies to flip the script and recognize these circumstances as learning opportunities instead of failures.
We discuss tips to practice the growth mindset, which helps you strengthen your self-confidence and get you moving toward your biggest goals.
Are you ready to learn more about increasing your self-confidence? Then be sure to listen to the podcast now!

I’ve been working g at having more of a growth mindset. For me, it really means focusing on myself and my path without comparing myself to others.

Having the right perspective and mindset is so important. I have a growth mindset for the most part, but I can admit the in areas of my fixed mindset I need to grow.
I think that’s such a great perspective, Ayanna. We all have areas in our lives where the fixed mindset is a bit stronger. Always learning, always growing, right? 🙂

Like your overview — sounds like a really interesting podcast with some great learning/growing opportunities!
Thanks, Patricia!
I believe I have more of a growth mindset. When faced with a super traumatic situation about 1 year or so ago, instead of wallowing in self-pity as I sat completely broken from the once super confident, strong woman I was, I stood up and said what can I learn here. Why did this experience happen? What was I meant to learn from this? Those questions helped me to get to where I am today and while I’m still experiencing the lessons taught from that experience, I’ve grown a lot. I continue to ask those questions each time something happens to me that is difficult. I love this information, I hope it helps others out there!
Thank you so much for sharing this, Brandy. That is absolutely beautiful and SO inspiring.
